Delaware Gold Softball Team: Silver Medallists

Delaware Gold Softball Team

After losing our 1st game in the play-off round, we sent FL home and on the final day had to play three back to back games to win the Gold. After scoring 47 runs in the first two back to back games and sending two KS teams home, we had to play the awaiting DE Stars for the Gold medal. With the temp suring to 105 deg., the Stars came out hotter than the temp and left us with the Silver. We were all honored to have represented Delaware so well."

Volleyball 70+ Geri-Actives Take Gold!

Doris Brown, Anita Angeny and Marion Lisehora from the Delaware First Staters played on a multi state team and won the gold.

They played seven pool play matches - had to play 65s teams, too, but all matches counted toward seeding the 70s teams for their 70s bracket play. They were seeded #1 for bracket play after beating both Massachusetts 70s and Tennessee 70s in pool play. All three teams were very equal. All matches were the best 2 out of 3 sets, and EVERY pool play and bracket play match between the three 70s team split the first two sets and needed to play the third set!! the Geri-Actives went into the championship match with no defeats in the 70s, but LOST in three sets to TN as they came out of the loser's bracket after they beat MA in 3 sets. They had to play them one more single 25 point game for the gold, and won!

Delaware's Marion Lisehora Wins Silver for 80s+ Basketball

There were five 80+ basketball teams (California, Texas, New Mexico, Oklahoma and Louisiana) I played with the Texas Challenge 80+ team. We got better each day we played. We played all 4 teams in pool play - winning two and losing two. Then came double elimination bracket play. We defeated Oklahoma for the second time and advanced to the gold medal round, but we lost to California by 4 points in the championship match. It was fun! New Mexico took the bronze. I had been picked up by the Texas team and did not know any of them before I got there.

"The TX basketball team and my volleyball team were both in the same hotel, and we wound up eating together, hanging out together, etc.... the whole experience was awesome"!... Marion Lisehora
