Outstanding Athlete Award

Joyce began participating in DSO basketball competitions as soon as she qualified age wise. She established the YaYa basketball team and it has won a gold medal every year since it began at the state level in both Delaware and Pennsylvania. Her team has also represented Delaware exceptionally well at the Huntsman World Senior Games in Utah bringing home the gold medal twice and at the National Senior Games placing fifth in Virginia Beach and sixth in Pittsburgh. Joyce also won gold medals at the Huntsman Games in tennis doubles in 2004 with her partner Annie Rizzo and in the long jump in 2005. Joyce has had an incredible start to her Senior Olympic participation and is truly deserving of the 2006 Outstanding Athlete Award.
