Outstanding Athlete Award

Bob has participated in the Delaware Senior Olympics every year since it began it 1992. He has competed in a variety of activities including, swimming, basketball shooting, race walking, track and field, bowling, cycling and the recreational walk. As of 2006 he has won a total of 123 medals including 76 gold, 35 silver and 11 bronze. He has set a total of 16 records of which six were still standing after the 2006 games. He has participated in the National Senior Games three times, twice in Baton Rouge in 1993 and 2001 and in Virginia Beach in 2003 winning two bronze medals and two 4th place ribbons in swimming. Bob also is a regular participant in US Masters Swim Meets winning 10 first place and 6 second place ribbons and frequently competes in canoe races. In a 2001 canoe race he was awarded the Oldest Paddler Award. Bob is an excellent example of Senior Olympic Spirit and very deserving of this honor.
