There is not another Delaware Senior Olympic athlete who can match the participation and success of Marion since she began competing in DSO events in 1992. She has entered a total of 214 events and earned a total of 212 medals, 194 gold and 18 silver. Her most impressive year was 2000 when she entered 21 DSO events and won 19 gold and 2 silver medals. Marion has also participated in the Maryland Senior Games, the Pennsylvania Senior Games, the Eastern Shore Games and on the National level at both the National Senior Games and at the Huntsman World Games. In 2001 she won a 7th place ribbon in the 400 meter free swimming event and in 2007 a 5th place ribbon in volleyball at the National Senior Games. This year she won her third gold medal in volleyball at the Huntsman World Games in St. George, Utah where she has also won three silver and two bronze medals. The grand total of medals won at all competitions is an amazing 267! For her outstanding level of success both at the State and National level DSO proudly recognizes Marion Lisehora with its 2008 Outstanding Athlete Award.
